## Animals
Scout and Beta are not props. Scout has nose, memory, warning, route and grief logic. Beta is a living logistical problem: rope, smell, water, food, noise, shelter, comedy and danger.
## Robin perception / solution line
Robin must be seeded from Part 1 as someone who notices small things others miss, not only as humor, morale, Steve's person, or the talker in the room. She can hear or read details through cars, engines, road noise, silence in a house, a repeated phrase, a human-use trace, or an odd
## Steve and signs
Until Chapter 015, Nancy and Robin believe Steve died or became unreachable after Chapter 004. Raven later proves he survived for a time, but no one at Shell knows his current fate. Early signs are Robin's grief, not strategy. The deliberate sign system is born only in Chapter 026 after the old sign
## Death, grief and continuing-life continuity
Every meaningful death or loss in Part 1 creates a continuing state, not a single reaction scene.
Required Part 1 applications:
1. Steve stopping his parents in Chapter 002 must remain active through Chapters 003-004 through body, sleep, overprotection, anger, tears/sil
## Clexa
The full first Clexa kiss is in Chapter 025. Before that: wound care, proximity, skin, washing, almosts and retreat. The kiss does not solve Lexa, erase Costia or demand a label. Lexa may ask Clarke not to name it.
## Ronance
Ronance is already a living couple by the time they reach Shell, but Steve remains physically present through jacket, wrappers, pain, guilt and love. Steve is not a romantic triangle. He is Robin's person, Nancy's loving past, and a grief the couple must learn to hold together.
## Raven / Clarke / Abby
Raven is like a sister to Clarke long before the apocalypse. Abby took Raven under her wing, and Raven became part of Clarke's chosen-family structure. Abby is a maternal axis for both of them. Abby's death devastates both Clarke and Raven. Clarke reaching Raven after Abby dies is a sister rea
## Raven / Robin Clexa bet
Raven and Robin do not begin a romantic thread here. Their shared running dynamic is the Clexa bet / intervention: two sharp observers noticing Clarke and Lexa refusing to admit the obvious. Alex can later join this dynamic after Vauseman enters.

# World / Body / Weather / Threat Contract Rule
Every chapter contract in Part 1 must answer:
1. What month after Day Zero is this?
2. What season and local weather are active?
3. Where are the bodies physically?
4. What light exists and what does it cost?
5. Where do food, water, medicine and hygiene stand?
6. What
### Purpose
Open the saga with the global thesis and Lexa's private apocalypse. Establish Costia as living love, Anya as failed contact, Lexa as a woman hardened by sixteen months of survival, and Shell as radius, not home.
### Required opening
Use the locked saga gate opening beginning with:
> This is not a story about the end of the world.
The opening frames the living as the story and the dead as the disaster.
### Required beats
1. Lexa and Costia before Day Zero, ordinary enough to hurt.
2. Day Zero through contradictory reports, calls, police/radio and the first global wave.
3. Costia's bite is not the origin of the end, it is the moment the end enters Lexa's hands.
4. Lexa takes Costia's chain and the photo Costia insist
### World / body / threat
Day Zero is early summer; Month 16 is late fall / early winter. The chapter must show radio contradiction, partial infrastructure, failed phones, living people in panic, living dead, road and shelter failure, and later Shell light/water/perimeter logic. No clean explanation of the source.
### Purpose
Merge the former early Hawkins setup into one full Day Zero collapse chapter. Establish Nancy, Robin and Steve as living people before the road, and show Hawkins collapsing through home, library and the first failed systems.
