Finchel, Finn and Rachel

• Finn and Rachel enter in Part 2 not as a cute couple with music, but as a young couple whose world collapsed, who lost parents, a friend who is family, a glee club, and a future, and still choose optimism.
• Finn is not stupid and not only a jerrycan with legs. He is huge heart, human intuition, a protective body, the ability to read who is scared, who is hungry, and who is about to break, and the ability to kill living dead when needed to protect.
• Rachel is not only bossy and not only music. She is smart, intense, knows how to hold a room, children, an audience, and fear, and make people move, drink, breathe, and act. That is a survival power and later a community power.
• Kurt Hummel is part of Finn and Rachel's heart on Day Zero and in the first month. He is not comic relief and not a background victim. His death in Chapter 36 is the root for naming the baby Kurt in Part 5.
• On Day Zero, Finn, Rachel, and Kurt are at McKinley High in Ohio after hours. They barricade themselves in the school after the janitor turns into a living dead person and receive partial information from a computer, phone, radio, and outside noise.
• Finn knows Carole is dead. Kurt knows Burt is dead. Rachel does not know what happened to her fathers, but finds a farewell recording at her house that gives no certainty.
• Rachel keeps Kurt's music-note pin. Finn keeps a small notebook of songs he and Kurt wrote together.
• The love scene in Rachel's house in Chapter 36 is a choice of life after loss, not cheap comfort sex and not an erasure of Kurt, Carole, Burt, or Rachel's fathers.
• In Chapter 37, Rachel gathers smart barter supplies, including formula and child supplies. This proves she thinks ahead and pays off opposite Theo in Chapter 38.
• In Chapter 37, Finn is injured in the leg by an accident involving something heavy falling on him, not by a bite and not in a fight. Rachel functions through hysteria because it is Finn.
• Faithfully is a major payoff in the camp parts, but music does not immediately return as a full performance. Before that Rachel hums, holds lines, words, and breath, until the community gives her voice full room.
• Steve and Finn become real friends later, and this is an ongoing line, not one moment.
• Rachel, Robin, and Piper later build a role around children, education, culture, play, rituals, and voice.
• The surprise pregnancy line belongs to Finchel. The pregnancy is seeded in Chapter 76, at Alex and Piper's wedding, is discovered and develops through Part 4, and reaches birth in Part 5 during the camp attack. The baby is named Kurt after Kurt Hummel.
