6. Families and Return Lines

Karen, Holly, Joyce, Lucas's mother, and Dustin's grandmother return in Part 6 with a small base-survivor / military group.
The return wave comes from the Hawkins base/camp split: the mothers, Holly, and Dustin's grandmother were cut off in a field/supply/growing area and survived with military/security/base survivors.
Ted, Jonathan, and Lucas's father die. Lucas's mother and Dustin's grandmother are alive and must not be treated as dead.
Mike is not with Karen and Holly, he is with Steve.
The Caskett children are Lily, Jake, and Reece.
The future Clexa girl / teen in Part 7 is not a bandage for loss and not a romantic prize. She is a test of parenting, trust, and choice after deep repair of Clexa and the city. Before writing her, lock her Day Zero age, survival route, who brought her, and why Lexa and Clarke specifically become her home.
Will can later receive a temporary emotional holding line with Sara and Ava, especially around identity, fear, children, and sense of place, but they must not become replacement parents who erase Joyce or the Hawkins family.
Lucas can receive a tough mentorship line with Anya through field work, weapons, movement, and protecting the group, without turning Anya into his mother and without erasing his father or his bond with Max and the Hawkins group.
