8. How the fandom sees them

The fandom sees Swan Queen as one of the large femslash ships of that television decade. Fanlore notes that Emma/Regina is one of the most popular OUAT ships, and that in 2015 a significant portion of the fandom's femslash revolved around it. [SQ3][SQ4]

In addition, Swan Queen became a prominent example of queerbaiting discourse in television fandoms, because from many fans' perspective there was on-screen chemistry, emotional construction, and shared family without canonical realization.
