2. Who he is in canon

Dustin grows up with cleidocranial dysplasia, a real condition mentioned in the show, and has a relationship with his mother and his cat. His friendships with Lucas, Mike, Will, and later Max and El, are at the heart of his character. The friendship with Steve is one of the strongest in the show. [1]
