9. In the saga specifically

Finn in the apocalypse is doing what he always did, scaled up: building something out of the people in front of him, on the basis that they deserve to survive. His warmth is not a casualty of the apocalypse — it is the resource. The project is correct to keep him alive and to use him this way.

Rachel in the apocalypse keeps the cultural memory. Songs, rituals, theatrical structure that gives frightened people something to stand inside. This is not peripheral. In long-term survival situations, the person who remembers that humans are meaning-making animals and builds accordingly is essential. The project understands this.

Their dynamic in the saga: she performs for crowds; he performs for no one. She plans the future out loud; he secures the present quietly. She fills silence with sound; he fills danger with his body. They are oriented in different directions and that is not a fault — it is the architecture.
