7. What's important to keep in writing

She is physical, moves before she explains.
She is sensitive beneath the violence, not instead of it.
She hates a cage, external control, condescension.
She needs very deep connections, even when she runs from them.
If she loves someone, it will appear through the body and through loyalty, not through gentle words.

Anti-patterns:

Octavia only as warrior. She's also friend, sister, partner. Three layers.
Octavia who "hates" Lexa throughout the fic. Canon plays with this, but good fic lets her reach mutual respect.
Octavia only as casualty. When she dies in this saga, she does not vanish from Raven's and Clarke's interior life. She is named, remembered, carried.
