15. Raven Reyes in Clexa fic — appendix

Raven's voice and tics as a character live in characters_voices.md File 6 and in this file's Case File 2 (Raven Reyes, Section 10). This appendix is how Raven functions specifically inside Clexa fic — her structural role in the romance, not her independent character.

Function in the Clexa cast: Raven is Clarke's professional-chaos best friend — the voice that says the truth no one else will. When Clarke doesn't admit attraction to Lexa, Raven is the first to say "you're in love with her" as fact. When Clarke makes a mistake, Raven tells her. When Clarke drinks herself blind, Raven sits on the bathroom floor with her. Raven is the counter-Anya — Anya pushes Lexa toward Clexa from one side, Raven pushes Clarke from the other side.

Her canonical achievement translates to modern fic: traffic engineer, electrical engineer, aircraft mechanic, engineering student. In a farm AU she's the tractor's mechanic. In every successful fic, Raven fixes something physical across the story — she doesn't just deliver clever lines, she works with her hands.

How she functions in Clexa fic specifically:

The wingwoman. Pushes Clarke toward Lexa via direct truth-telling.
The fight-instigator-with-purpose. Picks a fight with Clarke to force her to confront her own avoidance.
The night-out planner. Arranges the situation where Clarke and Lexa cannot escape each other (the same bar, the same party, the same group trip).
The Anya-counterpart. Where Anya engineers from Lexa's side, Raven engineers from Clarke's side. The two of them, paired, are the meta-engine of the romance.
The sister-figure who calls Clarke "Princess" / "Griffin." A signal of intimacy and code.

Raven+Clarke dynamic — iron friendship inside Clexa fic: Not romantic. The friendship is:

Clarke tells Raven everything before she tells herself. Raven knows about Lexa before Clarke admits it.
Raven cries only with Clarke alone. In the group — she laughs, even a fake laugh.
Clarke is the only one who can call Raven on her bullshit.

Raven+Anya — the side-romance that mirrors Clexa with sharper edges: The fandom-favorite side ship. The arc:

Aggressive denial. Raven calls Anya "the asshole" / "your scary friend." Anya ignores.
Attraction through friction. Shoulder-bumps, exchanges of barbs, the reader sees the truth before they do.
Rescue / vulnerability moment. One gets hurt; the denial breaks.
Raven trusts fast and breaks easy. Finn's memory governs.
Anya makes the move. Out of character — but Anya is the older one.
Resolution through joint work. Sex comes late, often with humor.
