A Clexa fic missing one of these will feel wrong:

A charged first meeting — eye contact held too long, a handshake that doesn't release.
Lexa says "Clarke." with full weight at least once.
A Trigedasleng expression somewhere — even in modern AU, even just one.
Reference to Costia — even passing. The wound must be acknowledged.
An "Almost" moment delaying the first kiss (3–5 of them planted).
A confession scene where one of them finally says it.
A first kiss earned over many chapters.
A friends scene where the ensemble teases them.
A scene with Abby (or, in canon-set, Indra or Titus).
A "stay" / "stay with me" moment — a canonical line undergoing transformation.

The setting earned in details — Polis war room, the coffee shop, the apartment — the place that becomes theirs.
