7. Friends, allies, and enemies

Robin — important circle:

Steve, her closest friend, the heart of her story in seasons 3-4, and per off-screen material a major anchor character in season 5. [1][13]
Dustin, Erica, Eddie, Nancy — all of these build Robin as someone who enters the group slowly, and then becomes a natural part of it. [3]
Vickie — the place where Robin suddenly becomes shy, which is very useful for writing, because it exposes the gap between Work/Investigation Robin and Romance Robin. [1][3][6]

Nancy — important circle:

Barb — the original broken heart. [4][5]
Steve, Jonathan, Mike, and the "party" — all different axes of who she is.
Robin, in the later seasons, no longer just "another friend of Steve's," but a real partner in investigation and danger. [2][4]

Enemies of Nancy, in a more personal sense:

Tom Holloway, Bruce Lowe, Billy, Jason, and in the larger context also Vecna and the Upside Down. [4] Robin is less constructed with an ongoing human "personal enemy," more with hostile institutions, Russians, social homophobia, and a world that demands she calm down when she is built exactly the opposite. [1][3]
