5. What their dynamic actually is

If we break Clexa down to fundamentals, it works on five axes:

A. Leader versus leader They don't work on a model of "one leads and the other melts." Both are accustomed to holding peoples, camps, laws, responsibility. Their chemistry therefore sits first on a threatening equality.

B. Love versus duty Each of them loves through responsibility, and so their relationship always sits on the question: what do you do when the woman you want stands opposite the people you owe.

C. Control versus control Clarke and Lexa are both characters who maintain themselves through control. Clarke through plan. Lexa through code. Every softness between them is therefore already an event.

D. Intimacy through war Here too, as with other strong couples, intimacy is not built from confession in a living room. It's built in war rooms, battlefield wounds, conversations about death, alliances, decisions, and looks that linger half a second longer than they should.

E. Trauma recognizes trauma They are drawn to each other also because both understand loss at a deep level. Finn for Clarke, Costia for Lexa, and the fact that both already have an emotional cost on their hearts before they even truly touch each other.
