2. Who Piper is, in canon and in vibe

Piper Chapman is the protagonist who begins the show inside a fantasy of normal life, order, personal brand, an organized relationship with Larry, and a story where her mistake is already behind her. Then prison, Alex, and the truth about who she really is break that story. Netflix's official source defines her through entering prison, the crime she committed for Alex, and her struggle to rebuild a life even after release.
