Chapter 149, What Summer Kept Safe

General job: Give Summer a death that creates life, not a cheap shock.

Connects from 148: The battle continues and Lexa’s wound has already shown that the base costs bodies before it becomes home.

Core movement: Summer dies first, through an action that saves the future life-zone: animals, Princess, children, seeds, farm equipment, or the place where the city’s food / growing life will begin.

Must carry: Summer’s color, humor, animals, Princess, Will’s quiet animal line, Shelby / Toni proximity, Seth’s presence.

Must not do: Do not make Summer passive. Do not kill her only to motivate Seth. She gets agency, choice, and a protected meaning of her own.

Hands to next chapter: Summer dead, the future farm / life-zone saved, Seth broken but not reduced to revenge.
