Chapter 181, What a City Loses to Stay Lit
General job: Close Part 6 by proving the city is real enough to lose someone who built its routine.
Connects from 180: Zane has entered infrastructure and irritated the correct people. The city has gates, water, power, clinic, children, animals, and service systems worth saving.
Core movement: A civic infrastructure event involving a gate, electricity, water, generator, hospital power, or service area traps Zane. He saves a critical part of the city and does not get out. Raven repairs obsessively in anger. Dustin understands infrastructure is not a game. Jo becomes quieter and harder on watch. Jack tightens civic procedure. Zoe moves deeper into the young people’s circle.
Must carry: Raven / Dustin; Jo / Jack / Zoe; Regina / Lexa / Clarke; city infrastructure team; possibly children if the saved system protects them.
Must not do: Do not make this another battle casualty. This is civic loss. A city can lose people to gates, power, water, and light.
Hands to Part 7: The city stands, wounded and functioning. It has lost someone to the systems that keep it alive. Part 7 can now ask what values guide a city strong enough to close its gates.
