Chapter 040, The Town That Still Believed in Itself
Summary: The SwanQueen/Henry arc opens in grounded Storybrooke before Day Zero: no magic, no curses, no fantasy mechanics. Emma and Regina are already living a marriage without the word through Henry, civic work, shared meals, married banter, Regina sending Emma food, and Emma doing the small things only she knows Regina needs. Henry's map and Route 14 seed the later route. The chapter ends with Storybrooke's civic confidence beginning to fail.
